WELCOME TO THE DIVISION 2 PRIVATE BETA



Welcome to The Division 2 Private Beta! If you have been selected into the testing phase, we want to welcome you as you take your first steps into Washington, D.C. The beta introduces you to some of the unique features The Division 2 has to offer—main missions, side missions, open world activities, and one of the three Dark Zones—to name a few.

You are limited to one character during the testing phase, and this character cannot be deleted. At character creation, you are able to cycle through presets of customization features to randomize your Agent. Remember that character progression is capped at level seven during this period.
Two main missions are available—Grand Washington Hotel and Jefferson Trade Center—to offer a smaller piece of a much larger, compelling narrative we are telling from start to finish. You can access these missions from Odessa Sawyer and Dyani Kelso, respectively.
As you explore D.C., five optional Side Missions will also be available for everyone who prefers to branch out from the main storyline:
  • Empire Autumn Hotel
  • MLK Library Hostages
  • National Archives
  • Mustang Court Rescue
  • Bureau Headquarters
You will explore parts of seven named zones, each possessing a specific level range to indicate difficulty as you traverse the world:
  • The White House—also serving as your Base of Operations in D.C.
  • Downtown East
  • The Federal Triangle
  • The Smithsonian
  • Final Epiphany
  • The 1040
  • Dark Zone East—the largest of all three Dark Zones, players utilize long sightlines in over-grown governmental parks. You will acquire the DZ East introduction mission from Senait Ezera—the new Dark Zone NPC in the Base of Operations—after completing Jefferson Trade Center. Completing this intro-mission unlocks full access to the Dark Zone and its features.
In addition, a variety of Control Points, living world activities, and Conflict PVP await in the Private Beta.





END GAME

We are excited to announce that the Private Beta will also feature a portion of The Division 2's end game! After completing Jefferson Trade Center for the first time, you will gain access to an end-game mission that unlocks three level 30 characters on your account. Upon logging in with one of these characters, the end game mission will begin. Each character is equipped with a different Specialization, so feel free to find your favorite! Please note that this end game mission will be available starting on February 8 at 5 PM CET.
With all that being said, we have a few closing reminders!
  • This beta phase is not under an NDA, so we encourage everyone to capture and share their experiences with the community.
  • This version of the game is not final and elements are subject to change.

The Division 2 will use Easy Anti Cheat, same as Fortnite





It seems like Massive Entertainment are trying to spare The Division 2 from a major issue The Division had - hackers. They are reportedly going to use Easy Anti Cheat, the same system that Epic Games use to prevent cheaters in Fortnite.
The Division originally introduced Dark Zone as a creative new PvPvE concept but it was plagued with issues at launch, with a major one being hackers, who persist even to this day, almost three years after launch. Just like with many other aspects of the game, it looks like Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment listened to player feedback in the original and are integrating the changes in The Division 2.
According to a teeet from Skill Up, who closely monitored The Division 2 development ever since it was announced, the game will make use of Easy Anti Cheat. Skill Up went on to state the system has a strong track record, but the only confirmation of it being used so far are his own sources, as Ubisoft and Massive neither confirmed nor denied these claims.
The statement on the strong track record seems true, as Easy Anti Cheat is used in high profile games such as Fortnite, RUST and Dragon Ball FighterZ. It is not the first time a Ubisoft title used it either - Far Cry 5, For Honor and Ghost Recon Wildlands all dipped into its waters.
While there are indeed cheaters to be found in Fortnite, and likely other games supported by Easy Anti Cheat, their number is small and rather insignificant when compared to the total player count. Fortnite is the king of the hill in online gaming at the moment and cheaters still haven't managed to ruin it for everyone, like they did with PUBG when it ruled the battle royale world.

The Division 2 DLC Plans Include New PvP Modes




Last week, Ubisoft unveiled The Division 2‘s PVP game modes. The dedicated player versus player game modes will be called Conquest and Domination and will resemble the traditional multiplayer gameplay offered by other shooters. However, the developers behind the game already have plans to expand the PvP beyond this.
In a new interview, Tony Sturtzel, the senior producer at The Division 2 developer Red Storm Entertainment, shed more light on the game’s DLC plans. Sturtzel confirmed that there are plans to introduce more PvP game modes as free, post-launch updates. The developer added that the aim of the team is to “ship this game with a few maps uniquely built for the best PvP experiences.”
Though, Sturtzel also stressed that The Division 2‘s competitive multiplayer wouldn’t be the only area of the game to benefit from post-launch content updates. Additionally, players of the upcoming shooter can expect to see more “story-driven missions and map expansions.” Like the new PvP modes, this story-focused DLC will also be available for free. Sturtzel explains that this is part of the team’s “ongoing commitment to keep our dedicated community energized and playing.”

Sturtzel also explains that the team has an “endgame-first mentality.” The developer adds that this means that “fans can expect more content drops in the future after completing the campaign.” It has already been confirmed that The Division 2‘s story will take players dozens of hours to complete and with side missions, PvP, and post-launch content, players will have more than a few reasons to continue to play the game.
During the interview, Sturtzel did not explicitly state how long it would take the team to add this content. It’s unclear how long the development team(s) would need to assess player feedback and figure out what players would require from new PvP maps. The studio may have some ideas, but it’s not known whether these ideas are in the works or if they are still at the drawing board stage.


The Division 2: Standard, Gold & Ultimate Edition, VIP Pass and DLCs




The Australien Microsoft Store has revealed first details about the game’s editions that will be available for purchase and pre-order, two months after The Division 2'E3 announcement and just in time for the upcoming gamescom 2018 in Cologne this week.
Besides the nowadays typical StandardGold and Ultimate Edition, it also lists a Year 1 Pass as well as a bunch of DLCs that come bundled with the different versions. But first things first. While the content of the Standard edition should be clear – nothing more than the game itself – the Gold and Ultimate Edition will include aforementioned Year 1 Pass, also available for purchase separately.



The Division 2 is following the already well-tried approach as the original game when it comes to pre-order bonuses, especially unique outfit bundles for your characters. So will people who pre-order any of these versions always receive the Capitol Defender Pack DLC. When pre-ordering Gold or Ultimate Edition, early game access with up to 3 days is granted, as well as exclusive in-game items and access to a Private Beta.
One of the more interesting bundles from a gameplay perspective is probably the Elite Agent Pack. It’s only available in the Ultimate Edition and comes with an exotic assault rifle, an exclusive skill effect as well as additional stash space.

The Division 2' Fans React Positively To Closed Alpha




Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's The Division was played by many, but not enjoyed by all. While the game was one of the best-selling games of 2016, it had critics and players divided over its quality. There weren't many claiming The Division was a bad game -- it isn't -- but there were many left underwhelmed, not only by the quantity of content, but by the quality.
That said, Ubisoft recently held a PC technical alpha test for the game's upcoming sequel, The Division 2, and now the first impressions of the game are starting to roll in.
For those that don't know: the technical alpha test took place from December 15-18, and offered a select few players to see the game early and provide important feedback. However, as you would expect, all participants had to sign a non-disclosure agreement that dictated what could and couldn't be said and revealed about the game.
Leaked footage and details that broke this non-disclosure arose, but Ubisoft quickly eradicated it all. However, some non-disclosure agreement friendly impressions have gone live of said test. And it's looking pretty darn positive for the post-apocalyptic sequel.

Can't talk much about the Division 2 Alpha cus NDA and stuff. But what I will say is that im really looking forward to the game. Many of the things that bothered me in TD1 were addressed and improved. Obviously there were some bugs, but I can see that being fixed till launch.




After playing the division and anthem alpha I'm pretty confident in never feeling the need to go back to Destiny 2.


I've clocked 500+ hours playing The Division. My thoughts on The Division 2 Alpha after around 10h with the game – I really like where this is heading! Tons of good and great changes. If Ubisoft listens to the feedback this game will be epic!



After playing the Division 2 Alpha, I can honestly say this within my NDA permission.

It’s going to be fantastic. The content will be immense and fruitful.

I’m excited for March now, and everyone who’s going to play it.





The Division 2 Technical Test has now ended and I'm proud of every single Alpha player, including myself who have sacrificed hours upon hours by providing feedback, suggestions, reports so you can have the best experience possible while playing the . Cheers! 🍻



As mentioned above, there were people streaming the Alpha and divulging details that weren't supposed to be revealed, but Ubisoft quickly cleaned up everything. However, some details did escape the clean-up job, courtesy of Reddit. Apparently, Ubisoft has addressed the bullet-spongy nature of a lot of enemies and has also made combat faster and more fluid. All of which is good news if you ask me.

The Division 2 Specializations, Raids, Clans and More





If there is one thing that the Ubisoft knows about The Division, it is the fact that it lacked the gameplay in the endgame and that is why they want to make sure that it won’t be the case with The Division 2.
They have been showing the fans, in fact convincing them that the things that lacked in The Division will not be following through in The Division 2.
From the things that lacked in the game to the specializations, raids, and clans. Problems from random encounters in the open roles and to the specializations for the character, the devs have been pushing the ID that this game is going to have a lot of content, quite a lot even if you complete the story quickly.
Specializations:
Well starting of The Division 2 players will not have a signature skill, so no tech link or blue link and no recovery link. All of these things will be removed from the game. Instead, once the players reach level 30 with a character they can choose a specialization.
So as far we know that there are three different specializations but there could be more at launch, probably added with DLCs.
The three specializations are
  • The Survivalist
  • The demolitionist
  • The Sharpshooter
Adding more, each of these will come with their own signature weapons, which will replace the signature skills that we used to have. Moreover, these weapons are pretty heavy and have a limited amount of ammunition. So use these weapons very carefully.
Then again there is a twist to all this as well, the survivalist will get a crossbow with an explosive dart on it while the demolitionist will get a grenade launcher and the Sharpshooter will get a 50 Cal sniper rifle. Which will be able to penetrate through multiple enemies.
Last but not the least each of these weapons have a unique leveling system, so to speak you would have to play with these weapons, play with specializations to advance with them, to progress. And as you do that you will be unlocking more unique skills, more talents, and more bonuses.
Having said that choosing any specific specialization does not lock you into that specific one, you can at any time swap between them.
Now there are quite a lot of fans who seem to not be sure with this specialization system. They can take this as something that the devs have worked on above all other things.
Raids and Clans
There are a lot of things that are uncertain at this point but what is confirmed is that The Division 2 will have 8 player raids at launch as a part of their mode.
Now raids are something, which the developers mostly like to keep a secret so that they are able to build the hype. So it is highly probable that we won’t be getting much interesting info regarding them, anytime soon.
Clans are the second thing that has been added to the game. Among other reason for them to be added, is to avoid the hassle.
As for the clans, it seems like you will be able to create custom logos for you clans as well, so that is pretty cool. However, it is pretty a much speculation at this point so let us leave it at that.
Furthermore, the dark zone has made a return and as most of the fans would agree that a Division game would be pretty empty with the dark zone. So this DZ is coming with a whole bunch of reworked IDs.
Patches
At the Ubisoft conference, it was announced that the devs will add content to The Division 2 with three big patches, which shall drop every three months, for the first year after its release.
They will also add a new story, new missions, new map expansions with DLCs. And the best part is that all of this content will roll out for free.
No Season Pass?
Well, all free stuff may sound amusing but free DLC probably means that no season pass which means that they might look for another source of revenue to pay for the DLC. And that translates into loot boxes and microtransactions.
However, this not set to stone but we definitely can see where this is going. The loot boxes we know so far are cosmetics only, which might change and not sure for the better.
Aside from everything else, the devs have also promised a lot of varied content in The Division 2. We have heard that before, let’s see what they actually mean by that.

The Division 2 raids will have unique mechanics







Julian Gerighty and Mathias Karlson spoke about raids in an interview recently, shedding more light on the endgame content. They stated these instances will have unique mechanics compared to Incursions and Legendary missions from original.
The Division 2 endgame will be vastly different from what The Division had at its launch, primarily because there will be actual endgame content. Massive Entertainment managed to add enough content over the years through updates, such as Resistance, Underground, Survival, Legendary Missions and more forms of PvP.
According to information coming from Gerighty and Karlson during an interview with Arekkz Gaming, The Division 2 will have a lot more to offer from get-go, with raids being the primary focus of the hardcore players. Karlson specifically stated that The Division 2 raids will not only differ due to being eight-player instances, but they will also have "bespoke mechanics, bespoke boss fights..." meaning that this content is specifically targeted for the players belonging in cream of the PvE crop.
In addition to this, the raids will apparently utilise the already existing systems such as shooting mechanics, specialisations and RPG systems to the fullest, on top of having that "social puzzling element" that is inevitable in creating competent teams.
Arrekz tried to squeeze out a bit more information by asking about squad wipe mechanics, but Karlson and Gerighty weren't at the liberty of divulging such information yet. Karlson did add "it's not going to be easy" though, but then again, nothing less is expected from top tier endgame content.




While the raids seem to be ready for launch, they will not be coming immediately though. Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have apparently decided to add them in a post-launch update, but they will not wait too long with it. Gerighty stated that the reason for the delayed release is that players will need some time to gear up and actually reach the power level necessary to complete a raid.

Why The Division 2's Dark Zones Are Smaller And Feature Less Players





Tom Clancy's The Division 2 will feature a smaller number of players in each of its PvP Dark Zone instances, along with smaller Dark Zone maps than the ones featured in the original Division. The reasoning behind this change, however, suggests that Ubisoft and developer Massive Entertainment have learned from the flaws of The Division 2's predecessor and is prepared to implement some clever fixes to improve the gameplay experience of its players.
The Division 2 looks to build upon the foundation of the original Division, which featured a number of inspired gameplay elements before its playerbase began to disperse due to a lack of end-game content. As that game's life cycle went on, the veterans who had remained with it noted that it had improved significantly, causing many to hope that The Division 2 can finally fulfill the potential that the series had in its first installment. The Division 2 doesn't release until mid-March this year, but Ubisoft has been liberal with its release of development news, and fans have had a number of questions as a result.
In the most recent Intelligence Annex from Ubisoft, the publisher detailed what players can expect from The Division 2's take on Dark Zones, the maps designed for PvP play. The most important information released in the update is that the Dark Zones will be scaled back significantly in The Division 2. The players per Dark Zone map will be cut in half to 12, while the three Dark Zone maps combined would only cover about two-thirds of the size of the first iteration's only Dark Zone instance. The reasoning behind the decision to cut the size of each Dark Zone is actually fairly ingenious, however. Ubisoft stated in the update that shrinking the size of the zones down has created a much more dynamic Dark Zone, where players will need to be significantly more aware of their surroundings to survive. While there will be less players per map, the density of each map works out so that they will see each other more frequently. The Dark Zone in The Division was notable for being pretty lonely at times, with a lot of ground to cover and very few skirmishes to be had outside of the main chokepoints on the map.
Ubisoft will also employ a number of quality-of-life fixes to Dark Zone gameplay on top of the major changes to scaling. The Division 2 will feature normalization, which is meant to reduce the discrepancies in equipment between new players and veterans. Contaminated gear will also roll stats based on the power level of the player who successfully extracts them, meaning there will be more gearing opportunities that will be relevant to a player's level as they progress through Dark Zone gameplay.
While players will have to see if Ubisoft's theory holds up when it is put into widespread practice, the update on Dark Zones is another encouraging sign that the company will be paying close attention to some of the more neglected elements of the original DivisionThe Division 2 has a lot going for it, including free DLC and reduced expectations given its predecessors lukewarm reception. Ubisoft may be able to capitalize on that despite competition from games like Anthem and the ever-present Destiny 2 when The Division 2releases on March 15, 2019.
